Position: Sunridge Middle School Principal

Reports to: Superintendent

 

Essential Job Requirements:

  1. Valid Oregon Administrative License
  2. Masters’ Degree in School Administration or related field
  3. At least five years’ experience in public school administration. (preferred)
  4. At least seven years’ experience of successful classroom teaching. (preferred)
  5. Experience working with diverse populations
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  7. Ability to work cooperatively and collaborative with various stakeholders (teachers, administrative team, parents, patrons, etc)

    1. Efficiently and effectively utilizes resources of people, time, fiscal and technology
    2. Promoting and protecting the welfare and safety of students and staff
    3. Ensures organizational time is focused on quality instruction and student learning
  4. Foster Inclusive Practices that Reduces the Achievement Gap by:
    1. Understanding and applying strategies in response to student sub-group data
    2. Understanding and respecting the community’s cultural and social resources
    3. Building and supporting positive relations with all stakeholder groups
  5. Demonstrates Ethical Leadership by:
    1. Engaging in behaviors and actions that are honest, transparent and consistent
    2. Ensuring a system of accountability for every student’s academic and social success
  6. Aware and Responsive to Socio-Political Influences by:
    1. Advocating for students and families
    2. Anticipating emerging trends and initiatives in order to adapt one’s leadership

Working Conditions:

  1. Required to travel within region and state on occasion
  2. Required to work flexible hours and schedules
  3. A majority of work is conducted in either classroom or office environment
