Some key elements of the job description for a Golf Head Coach are:
- High ethical and professional standards.
- Must have knowledge of a variety of techniques and strategies to teach and introduce golf.
- Must have knowledge of team dynamics at the high school level.
- Must have a plan to create a productive relationship with youth sports organization.
- Establish a relationship with the community support groups.
- Be an appropriate role model for high school-student athletics.
- Must have the ability to work in a cooperative and harmonious manner to be part of a school-wide athletic program.
- Develop and implement an off-season conditioning program.
- Must be creative and involved in fundraising programs.
All new hired coaches will need to complete the following prior to employment:
- NFHS Certification
- First Aid / CPR Card
- District Background check
- Completion of OSAA Concussion Test
- Completion of OSAA Steroid Test
- NFHS Guide to Heat Acclimatization and Heat Illness Prevention Course
- Completion of School District and OSAA paperwork
